One decision can change the world. With so many people focused on making decisions in their own life, Capital Area United Way (CAUW) needed to find a way to motivate a new generation of leaders to make decisions that positively impact their communities, like getting involved with CAUW.

SASSO created The Power of 1 United, a community-wide movement focused on the greater good. Our creative approach focused on the meaningful change that could be generated by one simple decision. We developed a unique visual approach to show that the potential of a great future is in us all. The campaign ranged from signage and messaging in public settings to community impact materials to move the community stakeholders who could influence change.

Using data-driven research as its basis, SASSO built a far-reaching strategy to rebrand and reposition CAUW for long-term growth. We developed an integrated multimedia campaign strategy to make the number one synonymous with CAUW's mission and goals for the Capital Area’s future.

The Potential that Lies Within

To create a visual representation of human potential, SASSO incorporated a double-exposure effect as a common thread that unified the campaign across multiple platforms.

A Clearer Understanding

Research showed that the public understood very little of the role CAUW plays in the community. SASSO added clarity with a visually appealing and easy-to-follow explanation. We also developed a robust social media strategy to share the brand identity.


The results of this United Way campaign and positioning of how to impact people’s future not only had a positive ripple effect in the local community. United Way recognized it as a best practice of how a marketing campaign can deliver hope and inspiration for people to do good.
