SASSO Sponsors The Big Bash to Support Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital

SASSO had the honor of being a Starfish Sponsor for The Big Bash 20th Shellebration, a momentous event with the goal of raising funds to support the child life program at Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital. At the heart of this program lie the dedicated Child Life Specialists, who play a vital role in transforming the hospital experience into a comforting and reassuring environment for young patients and their parents.

During the event, hearts were deeply moved by an impactful video skillfully directed and produced by SASSO. This video visually showcased the extraordinary experience of the LeBlanc family. Wyatt LeBlanc was only nine when he found himself in the midst of an unexpected dirt bike accident. SASSO unveiled touching moments that actually happened during Wyatt's hospitalization, shining a light on the immense impact and guidance provided by the dedicated and compassionate Child Life Specialists.

The video concluded with a powerful message, displaying the words "Day 452," symbolizing Wyatt's remarkable journey since his admission to the hospital. Wyatt proceeded to enter the stage and was welcomed by an overwhelming wave of applause from everyone in attendance.

The night was made possible because of generous contributions, whose support was showcased in the sponsorship video, also crafted by SASSO. The video highlighted the extensive list of event sponsors and recognized the dedicated committee members who played a vital role in making the event a success.

The Big Bash, hosted on May 4, 2023, at the Dow Hangar in Baton Rouge, was an unforgettable event. SASSO team members and other attendees indulged in cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and a three-course seated dinner by the renowned Chef John Folse. As the night progressed, the excitement in the air peaked with the arrival of the live auction. Attendees eagerly participated, knowing all proceeds would contribute to a worthy cause.

Adding an extra touch to an already unforgettable affair, the night took an unexpected turn with the special appearance from LSU football's head coach, Brian Kelly. The grand finale was marked by live performances from Jo Dee Messina and Little Texas.

Thanks to the tremendous support from the community, The Big Bash raised $1 million dollars, representing an impressive 30% increase from the previous year. SASSO is truly honored to be a part of such a noble cause, supporting the mission of creating a nurturing environment for every child in need.
