A Night of Glamor and Generosity Raises $1.7 Million for Cancer Research
For the past several years, SASSO has been a proud sponsor of the EXCEL Best Dressed Ball presented by Our Lady of Lake Cancer Institute to benefit the American Cancer Society. This annual gala brings together individuals and organizations who are committed to the fight against cancer. This year was extra special as Stan Levy, SASSO’s Founder & CEO, was one of the 2023 honorees.
During the event, emotions ran deep as a cancer survivor story video was shared with attendees, directed and produced by the SASSO team. The video captured the story of a local Baton Rouge family whose son, Cruz, was diagnosed with leukemia. The story visually captured how a strong support system played a significant role in providing the family with hope and resources in their battle against cancer.
SASSO’s contributions extended further as they crafted a series of honoree videos, powerful narratives that captured the essence of all 20 honorees, and their commitment to the American Cancer Society's mission. These videos were unveiled as the honorees graced the runway, showcasing their best-dressed attire.
In efforts to raise donations prior to the event, life-size cutouts of each honoree were placed at local businesses throughout the Baton Rouge community with a direct link to donate to the Best Dressed mission.
The Best Dressed Ball was hosted on August 12, 2023, at the Raising Cane’s River Center in Baton Rouge. SASSO team members and other attendees joined together for a night filled with great food, live music and generous donations, all rallying behind the American Cancer Society’s noble cause.
Thanks to the community support, the Best Dressed Ball raised $1.7 million dollars! The event was truly a celebration of unity, generosity and unwavering commitment to the fight against cancer.
